Venerable Sonam Penjor was born on January 1, 1991. He completed his Master’s degree (M.A.) in Buddhist Philosophy in 2019 from the Karma Shri Nalanda Institute for Higher Buddhist Studies in Sikkim, India. After graduation, he served as a teacher at the same institute for two years.

Since 2022, he has been working with the Dharma Treasure Project under the guidance of His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa, where he is engaged in digitizing and editing ancient Buddhist texts. He has also contributed to the International Kagyu Monlam in Bodhgaya, assisting with decoration and ceremony preparations.
